Solar Ash carves out a segment of PS5 gameplay during State of Play
Next title from Heart Machine studio (Hyper Light Drifter), Solar Ash is a platform game that relies heavily on the speed and fluidity of the movements of its central character, Rei, as shown in these new images unveiled during this State of Play. .
Published in the very prolific stable of Annapurna Interactive, Solar Ash is Heart Machine's first 3D title. A bet for the studio, especially since this endangered world promises to be particularly vast. To save him, Rei, a "Voidrunner", will have to rely on different mechanics presented during this State of Play: fast and agile, our character moves on sorts of rails connecting buried cities to oceanic plateaus - to see if Heart Machine is doing better on that than The Game Bakers, whose two Haven protagonists sometimes had a tendency to grab a few stones in their path. A grapple will also be at his disposal to cross large gorges or ditches and climb vertical obstacles on his route.
The objective is to succeed in thwarting the designs of the immense bony creatures sent by the Ultra Void, a huge black hole that threatens the planet, by climbing on them to find their weakness. A project which therefore flirts with a certain Shadow of the Colossus , in a title with superb artistic direction and which will take advantage of the fluidity offered by the new generation console from Sony. Solar Ash will be available later this year on PS5, PS4 and the Epic Games Store.
